Two thousand people (and 70 dogs) attended the 3rd annual
Galena Oktoberfest in 2009. With some of the proceeds, the Galena Lions Club donated $3000 to the United Churches of Galena Food Pantry, a local organization that distributes food
to needy families.
The 4th annual Galena Oktoberfest will feature a Ceremonial Tapping of the Keg; non-stop live music; wiener dog races; polka lessons and dancing; bean bag tournament; beer stein endurance contest; bounce house, face painting, pumpkin decorating and games for the kids; lots of food and beer; and a raffle with lots of prizes.
Oktoberfest is not complete without hearty foods and plentiful drinks.
